You can search a lot of old newspapers online - not just the Times. Your local library may have the records - try looking at their website. Or join Lancashire libraries online. You'd be surprised what gets published where back then - they liked a bit of scandal! |

Thank you for all your input. A coroner gave the verdict, but from what I understand there won't be much more info othet than what's on death certificate. I think looking for newspaper article for that year will be like looking for a needle in a haystack :( |

Thank you anyway. It was my 3x ggmother and I have very little to go on with her except 1851 misspelt where she came from and is too ambiguous. Just looking for any signposts really as hit a brick wall. |

A coroners report is unlikely to have been kept, but I would imagine that if it was, London Metropolitan Archives would have it. |

Would someone be able to guide me in the right direction regarding how to get hold of a coroner's report for my ancestor who died in 1857 in the parish of St Lukes Chelsea Middlesex? Not sure where to start looking first :-S |
