hi folks ,i'm trying to find out when my gt,gt,grandfather was born so i can apply for birth certificate,his name was thomas reynolds died may4 1938.liverpool.i'm a new boy so all help would be very grateful,many thanks in advance and a happy new year to all .jaykay

His death cert would give his age which would narrow it down a bit.

If he died May it may be more likely to be the first of these entrys....but do you know how old he was ..is there any other clues?

hi tinselly,i have a copy of his death certiicate but want to be sure of his birth,i have birth certificate of a thomas reynolds born march 1867 but i,m pretty sure thats not him ,and with a cupboard slowly filling with the wrong certificates i need to be right.best regards .john

Do you have their marriage certificate? as this will give both their fathers name to match against the birth certificate

Lancashire bmd has Mary's name as Tilburn, with no indication of a previous marriage for her (Lancashire bmd lists previous married names for women).

I found that last night but couldnt work out were he had gone ...but it says he was a fireman so I did think prehaps he had died!!!
I couldnt find him on his own

I think its two diferent familys !!! coz the birth dates really dont fit

There are 3 Thomas Reynolds born in Liverpool in the September Qtr 1864, which would make the age at death correct. Unfortunately to find out which is the right one you will have to get the certificates.

Yes I agree but ...also there seems no connection between the first ebtry of 1911 and 1901 coz the birth dates of the children dont match
and I found a Thomas Reynolds on a boat as a stoker in 1891 which would throw the marriage out the door ...so all we really have is death .......
The births are there but we cant match them to census and John didnt seem 100% sure the birth certificate was right ..again the Surname of Mary is also odd as there is a gap with the marriage and possible names

hi folks,sorry i,m late getting back to you,the certificate that kempina mentions 8b 99 is the one i have but it dos,nt fit ,the thomas reynolds ann mentions in 1911 is the right one and the thomas born in 1889 is his son so as andysmum says i,ll have to buy the other certificates. many thanks for all your help. john
