Checked the marriage certificate, and yes, his father's name was John. Occupation - saddler. Looks like it's them! |

Jax - it certainly could be him - DOB is about right and place of birth. I'll check the marriage certificate when I get home later. |

It does say that she is married.Just her mum or dad forgot to give her married name. |

My g g grandparents Charles Pearce and Amy Hitch married in Birmingham on 04/08/1879 (I have the certificate). I'm trying to locate them on the 1881 census but to no avail (there are another Charles and Amy Pearce but they're not mine). However, I have found Amy in the 1881 census, still under the name of Hitch, living with her family. And yet in 1891, Charles and Amy are living together. |
