i have a peter foster born 1931 rotherham yorkshire . mothers maiden name nettleship but cant find a marriage for a foster and nettleship. ( his parents ) if anyone could help it would be very much appreciated |

Nor can I. I would be tempted to get the cert. It's possible they never married, or his mother was married before so her name at marriage was different. What a pity with such an unusual name! |

Having had a quick look, there aren't many female Nettleships marrying ih the relevant years in Rotherham. If feeling enthusiastic you might cross-check for 2nd marriages - but personally I would get the cert! |

My grandmother was married twice. When my mum was born ( second marriage)gran gave her maiden name on the cert not her former married name. |
