how can I get a death certificate if i don't know

Hi, I only have a rough idea of when my grandfather died, how can I trace his death certificate? I have his birth certificate and family details. |

His name was Henry Galloway Herd and he was born in Scotland on 5th April 1893. He died between 1955 and 1970 (60's probably) in England, possibly Basingstoke. |

For English research it pays to have a subscription to a site like Ancestry or Findmypast. |
