I think they only go up to 1941, so maybe she died after the cut off period. |

If she died in December, it would take a little while for it to be proved perhaps and so miss the 1941 inclusion. |

You could risk it, if you think she definitely left a will, and pay a Probate Office £5. If she didn't leave a will you won't get your £5 back but if she did, a copy will be provided for the £5. Don't apply to York Probate Office - apply to one of the smaller offices. |

I have just checked Derbyshire Records Office web site for you. They have wills up to 1928. Post 1928 wills are held at Nottingham Dristrict Probate Registry. |

Nottm Probate Office isn't a good one to apply to. A friend tried to apply there a couple of weeks ago and even though they shouldn't, they referred him to York. |

You can also check the indexes at various other places around the country - you don't have to go to Holborn to do it. This may not be the case with the very recent ones though - I'm not sure. |
