I'm trying to track the Walters family from Somerset. I've gone back as far as William Walters, born in Farmborough Somerset in 1840 and I have details of him being in the army and of his marriage. However I can't find his birth and therefore his parents names and I think that part of the problem is not knowing what districts these small villages come under. As I said, William was born in Farmborough but his wife and children were born in Newton St Loe. Any help much appreciated thanks. Sarah |

ok thanks. I was hoping just to find the family on the 1841 or 51 census but there are a lot of Walters' in Somerset it seems. I can find several in Farmborough on the family search website but no William. I wondered if there might be district name that I'm not familiar with that might hold a key for example the way that here in Sheffield we have Hallam as a district. |

Farmborough is part of Clutton District. |
