There is no way you can get any details of an adopted person. Only the adopted person has the legal right to those details. |

There is other info about the house, mentioned in Peerage etc. Also an article from the Times. |

If it says adopted, then yes they were adopted. With the house being so large my guess is that it may have been a mother and baby home, where unmarried mothers went, if it wasnt a maternity hospital. |
