Could anyone point me in the right direction to help me trace the whereabouts of my Granda Michael Henry McCormick( born 1881 in Maryport West Cumbria) during the first world war, I have a faded photo but no info .He went on to marry Emma Jane Harrison and had children Edward, Peter,( my Dad ) Isabelle, Victor and John. There is a thought that there was a child called Sidney but not sure about this as some family members say that he was adopted and lived with my relatives but am also struggling to clarify this. I would really love to find out about my Dads family as Emma died in childbirth and then the family were sadly split up between relatives.Think that Emma died while having twins and the surviving twin was my Uncle John. Unfortunately all my Dads family and my Dad have passed away so cant check a lot of these facts. Pity my interest wasnt there when I could have asked my Dad, but things dont have the same relevance when you are young, it isnt til you are older with your own family that these things become important to you! Any pointers would be appreciated , I was overwhelmed by peoples kindness when I asked about another family member, the fact that people actually take the time and effort to help is truly amazing! Thank you all again Kathleen x |

Theres No medal cards coming up for him for WW1 very few Army records survived anyway as they were lost or badly damaged in the Bombings of London in WW2 |
