Sorry for not answering sooner folks but yes that was the problem I found with the 1947/48 entry you've mentioned. |

Try calling the register office where the birth was registered. They can be very helpful. If you ask the question 'why was mothers name not entered' They may offer to have a look and give you the info over the phone, or at least enough info for you to know it is the right one. |

Ancestry's transcription is flawed. It can be seen from the image for both 1947q3 and 1948q1 that no mother's MS is given. (Dunn refers to the preceding entry for Patricia, just like Ancestry's Richardson in 1947q1 refers to the preceding entry for Peter.) |
