Hi all,
I'm stumped - need an expert.
1911, 1901 and probably 1891, Frederick Thomas Maunder (1865, Botley Hants) had a wife Ann(e) (b about 1860 Bursledon Hants).
1890 FTM apparently married Ann Maunder -Free BMD.
I can't find her in 1881 or 1871 census nor can I find her birth,
I've tried Free BMD 1859/1861 for simply Mau* and Man* surname in South Stoneham registry and also similar surname plus first name Ann* in Hampshire. Only hits are Fred's sisters Sarah Ann and Agnes Ann.
Any suggestions? Please!

I see that Ann is 5 years older than Frederick. Is it possible that she had been married before to a different Mr. Maunder?

Blimey, I go and have a cuppa and chase a dog out of the garden and you have it cracked.

Yes, I could buy the certificate but Fred is very distantly related - just one of those little niggles I've found in my notes.

and you should buy the marriage certificate which will prove all this because it will say whether Ann was a Widow, and possibly also her maiden name


..... although it will certainly give her father's name which would tell you whether the supposition is accurate.
