Norma,

As you state that your Pc is 10 years old you may have a problem. Most family history programs currently on sale today may require a Pc specification beyond what your machine is capable of.

The most popular program would appear to be Family Tree Maker, the latest version of it being 2010. Check its computer requirements before purchasing however just to make sure that it will run on your machine.

Good luck.

Hi
I want to buy a new family tree program for my pc and was wondering which one to choose.
Preferably I would like one which enables you to merge duplicates as so many of my relatives inter married living in the same village. Hope that makes sense.
Also my pc is 10 years old
