What does this mean on WW1 service record please?

An ancestor of mine served in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlander regiment. He is said to have been 'boarded on 6/6/1917 and reclassified in category c111 (c3).' He does not appear to have seen action as he was a clerk. |

Have you tried googling the name of the Regiment - they should have a website, with a contact us facility. They should be able to tell you. |

I would guess he (or his case) went before some board or other, presumably the one that reclassified him, so maybe a medical board? |
