Can anybody help & tell me if you can find stillborn records. |

You have to write to the GRO at Southport. Only the parents of stillborn children can have access to the records. If both parents are deceased then a sibling of the child can have access to the certificate but you won't find the records online as they are not open to the public. |

The stillbirth register didn't start until 1927. If the birth was before this then there will probably be no record of the birth at all. Even after 1927 not all stillbirths were registered. |

You may find a record of the child's burial in a local cemetery, if you know where your great aunt was likely to be living. |

My great aunt had a stillborn child in the 1940's - 5 months after my great uncle was killed in the war (their only baby). |

If you have the surname and the approximate date the cemetery MAY be able to help you. Some cemeteries are very helpful (our local one is) but some will not be so helpful and may say this is a private matter - or they may charge you for the information. |
