Is there anywhere I can find London Marriage records apart from Ancestry and FreeBMD? |

No, I don't think there is anywhere else you can look for such a recent marriage. You will have to buy the certificate. Who are you looking for. If the couple involved are still alive and you want to send a private message with the details I'll have a look on Ancestry for you. |

If you live in England, any local records office will have the BMD's for the whole country on microfiche, up until at least 3 months ago. They're free to view, but you will have to join the records office - whch is also free. I think you'll need 2 forms of identification, one of which must be a utility bill. |

I think Maggie means that the INDEX to births, marriages and deaths is available at the local Records Office - NOT the actual certificates. If the name is quite common and you do not know the exact date you will still have to take a chance on which certificates you order, which you can still do using Ancestry or Findmypast. |

I think Mag*nolia was hoping to find the actual images so save her from having to order certificates that turn out to be the wrong ones. With any of the indexes you still have to decide which certificate MAY be the one you want and if there are lots for the name you are looking for then it can indeed be a very expensive exercise. |

Thanks for your reply Rob, but I don't know in which area in London the marriage took place. Sorry to sound so vague, but it is a long story and I was just trying to find a shortcut to resolving a mystery. But it seems there isn't one ! |
