Chrissie....accept the burial entry..had there been two burials on that day.they would be there in the Records..I have great faith in original Parish records. |

At familysearch do a place search of the library catalog for Ticknall - church records. Select, say, the BTs: |

You are doing really well then. Bishops Transcripts are copies of the parish records. As you can imagine, every time a record is copied, it is more likely to have errors. (think of it as Chinese whispers lol) |

I'm afraid I can't explain it but the IGI info is from the Bishops Transcripts as opposed to the actual PRs. I wonder if the PRs you checked were a copy of the original and perhaps the original contained your Johns birthdate. This could then have been mistranscribed for the BTs. |
