I'm looking for John Francis Hughes born 24.3.1946 in Northampton. I have his birth certificate but it appears he does not exist in the UK. there are no records for him anywhere. Would you be able to give me any pointers on where to go from here. I have a date of birth for his mother Annie Hughes born 27.7.1911 but this is from records at the workhouse in Northhamton where John was born. I have tried to obtain her birth certificate but doesn't exist. Father is named as Walter Thomson Burnett who I have traced to a nursing home in Eastbourne. He has Alzeimers and no recollection of having a son. He left Annie when John was v young. John had 3 older sisters by a different dad.Thats as much as I know. Oh and he worked when he was in his early 20's at TW Broadbents in Huddersfield. (No archived records of staff) He gained 11 o'levels at a grammar school, again believed to be in Huddersfield.

Well here I am back in Guernsey after a wonderful party and a nights stop over at Cynthias. Thank you so much for letting me stay Cynthia, you really are a gem, everyone should have a friend like you.
I am wearing my normal clothes today, have put the siren suit away for another day.
My birthday is in July (29th) and we had a lovely time last year lets hope we can all get together again then.
I am going to have a nice cup of coffee now and quiet sit down whilst Ron snores away watching TV.
Much love to you all and thanks for a lovely time
Evelyn

Robert I hope your shell is holding together

Hi Everyone

Good morning to you all,one sore head today and I was out again first thing today getting another load of wood.
We are all filled up now so winter can do its thing.

Kiwibird you are correct about Nostrodamas,it was very good reading I might add when I started thinking about having him as my person, a lot of his predictions have come true.

I fell asleep in the chair last night ,to much wine and Lamingtons ,it sounds like we all had a lot of fun.

Whos next for a party.

I am off for a shower,we get quite grotty out getting wood ,a few bones are feeling old.

Well, good morning to anyone who is still about after all yesterday's excitement. Glad to see SylviaIC did eventually make the party. Glad you managed to climb out Sylv.

I had a heart stopping moment once at Morecambe Bay but as it involved a dog better shut up. Think I go on too much about them.

Regarding my comment about drug taking before the party started wondered if my son was right. Have used that handy little tool Google this morning:-

"Just Like a Pill" was written by P!nk with the help of Dallas Austin, who also produced and did the musical arrangement for the song.[2] Pink said in an interview that "Just Like a Pill" shows "part of who I am", referring to her documented problems with drugs[3]

The song was generally well received by contemporary music critics. NME called it "the third best track off her killer last album".[4] Drowned In Sound's Robert Luckett commented that it is "a fascinating record...this is a record with a edge, a kind of pot boiling over at any moment, ready to go off at any time vibe." He also wrote "it obeys the Pop Industry's well dusted rules for a hit."[5] Stylus Magazine's Todd Burns, in his review of the album, compared "Just Like a Pill" to the other singles from the album, "Don't Let Me Get Me" and "Get the Party Started" ................

Must now go and do what I ought to have gone and done yesterday.

Catch you later.

puff puff puff

here I am

I am sooooo sorry to be so late. But I see that you have all had a good time, sleeping bodies all over the place!!

So Cynthia's birthday was suitably celebrated.

I'm late because I had to swim ..... the pilot of the plane decided to land on the water in Morecambe Bay. I really don't know what she was thinking ..... but someone on board did have a very stinky cheese

I brought a tray of Nanaimo Bars, so I'll just leave it on the side table and C and whoever is sleeeping here for the night can eat them tomorrow.

I'll take a piece of the Pav, I looooooooooove Pav, and can only eat them in my imagination

and Nellie Letitia McClung says farewell

tip toes away so I won't wake up the sleeping beauties.

I t would appear you and I Jean are the only one's still standing.
Venerable Robert must have fallen asleep in his shell hours ago.

And poor old Anne was up at the crack of dawn so has probably fallen asleep along with the Birthday Girl.

And I know dear old Evelyn would have been in her bed hours ago.

Sylvia and Frank sad that you couldn't join us,
have saved some food and Champers for you,
There is still some Pavlova ,but the Lamingtons all went.

I have woken up now so will go and make myself some breakfast.
Thank you Cynthia, for a wonderful party will have to do it again next year.

Good night and sweet dreams to the rest of you.

Catch you all later. Josie

Watch your language Evelyn. I thought we were not supposed to mention night attire on this thread so as not to get whooshed!

Hope you find a nice place to stay.

I'll second that Cynthia. It has been most entertaining. Think I too will have to say goodnight now. Really disappointed SylviaIC hasn't been able to join us. Hope we hear from her soon.

Nightie, night. Oooops.

Well I dont know what I am going to do now as I have missed the last plane to Guernsey. Guess I will look for a local B & B or Hotel and book in for the night, O H wont be very happy but it will do him good to look after himself for once.
Are there any shops open at this time of night I want to buy a nightie and a change of underwear also some toiletries, I didnt expect to be staying the night so am not very well prepared, I suppose I could get a train to Beaconsfield and stay with my daughter.
I wont need supper I have eaten enough for 6 people today and thank you all I have had a wonderful day, thanks especially to you Cynthia you certainly know how to entertain people, no wonder everyone loves you.
Goodnight everyone

Just had to look back over the confessions! Really didn't have a clue about you Cynthia. Did find one person who looked slightly promising but it wasn't the Scarlet Pimpernel.

Dozey Report 29 May 2010 21:37

Thanks for that - Nostradamus. That's the name I was trying to bring to mind. Perhaps Michel sent me off on the wrong track.

Have to admit - I worked out Sues - as I have only just been reading about him

Very clever Robert - but the red outfit gave you away - You are Sebastian arn't you.

Nothing like pinching another person initials eh Jeanie - Same as mine - I am AB - always had a thing about Anne & Henry VIII - one of my OH's ancestors had a lot to do with Elizabeth I & her sister Mary

Well I am off to the quiet room for a bit of a chill - help yourself to Breakfast muffins KB - lots of Bacon & sausages on the barbie have a good tuck in.

See you all tomorrow

Dozey

Dozey Report 29 May 2010 21:34

Well, sorry folks. I was trying to be a little obscure to get you all going.

Naughty girl - got pregnant before she married.

Heave - err (Hever Castle)

She had two pet dogs with those unusual names (pictured with one of them sitting on her lap)

Born in Blickling Hall (I think) in Norfolk.

Red-headed daughter - Elizabeth I

Rumoured to have an extra finger.

Tried not to lose my head - but I did when he went off with Jane Seymour.

Ann Boleyn - as Evelyn worked out.

-----------------------------

Working out the clues this morning I found Cleopatra, Empress Josephine, Nell Gwynne and I think Michelangelo??? Think I've forgotten who was who.

Where is Sylvia?? Was expecting to see her here when I got back.

You've obviously been enjoying yourselves while I've been away.
