Do you know anything more about them? Their occupations then/later? Their father's name and occupation?

Are they brothers? Have you found them together on a census?

The 1901 family has Charles as a Slater.

The tree on Ancestry has him born 26 Nov 1891.

No, it gives no marriage date, nor any siblings of Alfred Henry.

You can only contact the tree owner through Ancestry - I can do it for you if you tell me what to ask.

Here's that marriage:

England & Wales, FreeBMD Marriage Index: 1837-1915
about Evereld Freeman

Spouse Alfred Evans (one of two possibles).

I'd want the marriage certificate to be convinced it was your Alfred, or full details from the person on Ancestry.

MISTAKE! The Elizabeth Lambert in 1911 is the wrong age.

So now I've realised the Elizabeth Evans marrying James Lambert isn't yours, I can't find any of the Evans lot in 1911.

Will send a message to the Ancestry person on June's behalf.

June, have sent a message to the Ancestry tree owner, no reply as yet and may not get one.

I am a bit concerned that you said Charles was a mineral water manufacturer, but the 1901 census has him as a slater. How sure are you that that is the correct family in 1901? Where did you discover him to be a mineral water manufacturer? Presumably from the marriage cert of one of his children?

June

June Report 4 May 2010 20:33

hi
thank you anyway
yes sometimes gives him as a mineral water manufacturer but also as a slater
the charles you kindly found for me is my great grandfather
