saving tree to disc

could anyone help please. is there anyway of saving your tree to a disc from gr or ancestry.or do i need to purchase a program ie (family tree maker . ancestral quest . tribal) many thanks to everyone. |

You can save it by exporting a gedcom and copying the file to whatever storage medium you choose.. |

inspectorgreen pen. thank you i will have to purchase family tree maker or another program.i tried downloading a gedcom' when e mail came windows said it does not recognize this file'so i gave up.could you recomend a good tree maker.that is easy to use thank you |

You could try a free one. Family search do a free PAF programme. |
