WW1 Army Medals

I have just found on the British Army WWW1 Medal Rolls Index Cards 1914-1920 one for my grandfather and another for his uncle, both with the same name, so don't know which is which, but I cannot make head nor tail of it. It reads |

The references after the names of the medals, i.e. LTP/104B 4 relate to the medal rolls which are held at Kew - they are not online. Medal rolls should give you the battalion the man served in and the roll for the SWB (it IS the Silver War Badge) should give you dates of service. |

Have you checked on Ancestry to see if their service records have survived? If so, they should give you plenty of information. If they haven't survived you would need to go to Kew to look at the Medal Rolls. |

Thank you to all who have given some valuable information. I do have access to ancestry but didn't find their service records, so theirs were probably destroyed during WW2. |
