It is worth repeating the value of backing up your researches regularly.Someone once said that backing up your computer was the thing you were going to do the day after your computer fried! Not being a computer techie I have one of those units you just plug in to your computer and it automatically does the job of backing up with no fuss! |

I was thinking of getting an external hard drive - but I do have dells internet back up, my FTM can also be backed up to dvd or the internet but I am tending to use ancestrys tree more and more now as its so easy to find details and then merge them immediately and also to find contacts. I dont think you can back up ancestrys tree? |

So, Heather, does an "external hard drive" only back up or what? And is it removable ie to put on another computer? And if it's connected to your computer wouldn't it crash at the same time if one went down? |
