thanx for your reply lesley, i can get on the 1911 census but its not bringing the family up and i know they were still in manchester then. i might just give up for now and try again later x mgt |

Pre-1875 registration was not compulsory - even for deaths. (And no, don't ask me how they buried anyone without a death certificate!) |

Have you tried free bmd to see if he is on there first - easier than scrolling through pages of deaths, have you found his family on later census. Can you add a place name and the names of his parents, this will help members to help you. |

hi , i have a Alfred Miller on the 1871 census when he was three weeks old. he is not on the 1881 census or any other so i pressume he died.i have been looking on the deaths in find my past from 1871 until 1920 and have not come up with anything. can anyone suggest where to look now as i was hoping to get a death cert. many thanx mgt |
