Baby still needs to be at least 6 weeks old before consent can be given (legal requirement).. |

As far as I know there is a minimum cooling off period of 6 weeks before the mother makes up her mind, assuming it is a voluntary process. Back in the 60's she might have been under a lot of pressure to give the baby up. |

depends when you are talking about. A child that was born was often given to a foster parent for a while, Quite often ( I think) its to give mothers thinking time. |
