Maybe it's just me ... I just don't seem to be getting the records I need tidily enough. I have been using ancestry for years so I am familiar with exact search and varying the number of years, it's just not giving me the answers that are relevant enough. |

You CAN search births by just putting in the surname and mother's maiden name on Ancestry for births after 1911. Use "Exact" search and preferably the "old search" option. |

I should have said that i have an ancestry subscription, but have found it's search frustrating and was hoping to eliminate lengthy searched by being able to go directly on the child's surname and mother's maiden name. |

Ancestry have the BMD indexes transcribed to 2005. but is pay per view or subscription. |
