Many thanks for the info, I will definately check out the Lancashire online records. Yes, John & Elizabeth stayed in the area, and lived and died there (in Salford). I have seen one census entry which said he was a shopkeeper(provisions) |

Have you tried the Lancashire online parish clerk website? I have had a look on there for some of my relations and I know they have at least some of the parish records for the Salford area on there. The address is: |

There is a John Thomas b.abt 1813 on the 1881 Census Salford...He is a Bootmaker... |

You can work out roughly when they married by checking on the earliest Census to find them and any children...Not an exact science but works reasonably well... |

Was wondering what to do next. I have traced my great(x2) grandparents John (born abt 1813) and Elizabeth Thomas (b abt 1815) he was born in Salford and she in Manchester. There is a chance that they were married before marriage certificates. Any suggestions on what to do to trace John's famiy? |
