I use FTM 2005 and put the census addresses and occupation in the notes for the male partner ,To me this reads better when doing a genealogy print out |

I do it slightly differently using Facts. These have a date and a place / description field so are ideal. I use two for this Census Address and Occupation |

The advice I would give is to decide on a system then stick with it. This way your reports will all look consistent. |

I record the census details as a source, then using the copy function, record the individuals details in their notes box (saves typing it out twice). I then link that source to each person mentioned on that census. So when looking at the Source I see the census for the whole address, which is useful when more than one family or extended family are at the same address. But by copying the individuals details into their notes box I can see at a glance where they have been their entire lives and anything in the notes box comes through when I transfer the gedcom onto GR. |
