My grandparents Edward & Emma Bowerman born 1866/1867 married in Exeter in 1884 and went to Australia, a daughter Maria 1886 & a son Arthur 1887 were born there. They then returned to the UK & my Grandmother Winifred was born in Devon in 1889. I cannot find Emma on any census after she married. On the 1891 census her 3 children were living with their maternal grandparents - William & Maria Tratt, I only found them through the grandparents. Looking up their own names results in nothing. In 1901 William & Maria were living with their married daughter, Edward Bowerman was remarried with a new family. Arthur died in 1891 and there is no record of Emma, Maria and Winifred. Emma would have been about 34, Maria 15 and Winifred 12. I cannot find them on the 1911 census either. Maria may have died young, but as Winifred was my grandmother she must have been somewhere. Please does anyone have any suggestions, I would be extremely grateful. Jayne |

1911 based on 1901 - John appears with another wife Susan in 1891 - so although they state they were married for 26 years this appears untrue |
