thanks for that kath. i know from family members one twin lived for one hour and the other for a day but i cannot find any record at all.back to the family i guess to recheck the details. thanks for info though |

If the child lived, even for just a few seconds then it should be registered as a birth and a death. If the child was stillborn then there will not be a record in the birth and death indexes because stillbirths are registered separately and only the parents can have access to the records (or a sibling if the parents are both deceased). The stillbirth register started in 1927 - before that there was no record of stillbirths. |

does anyone know that if you have a child that was born and died the same day, will that child be registered in the births and deaths? |
