I would expect that the nearest Mental facilities would have been Leytonstone House (Now a Tesco) Claybury (Now a housing development) or Brentwood (also a housing development) |

Thanks Helen. I've tried using the link but not being an experienced user, I haven't been able to turn up much. Having said that, I always find the National Archives website difficult to use anyway. |

Try the National Archives Access to Archives page, lists archives head around the country and has a search facility. |
