Old streets in London, how to find?

When tenements were demolished and the new streets that were built over them were given new names, is there any way to find out WHERE the tenements were? I hope this makes sense! I have family who lived on Collumpton Place, St Pauls Terrace, and Alma Street, all in Kentish Town/Pancras and would like to visit the area. |

I don't know for sure but I would think the local library or archives may have old maps of the area. |

You could look on old maps. I bought a collection of old maps for Middlesbrough dated from 1600. |

i think most of the streets your ancestors lived in were lost during the war. The Guildhall library shop was selling a facsimilie of the original London A-Z atlas last year. Perhaps you could contact them. I have an original 2nd edition of the same map which cost me £3 about ten years ago. It is my most treasured posession and has proved to be invaluable. I've even walked around the area my lot came from (Shoreditch/Hoxton/Old Street) using it as a guide! |

PS My great great great granny lived in Alma Street briefly, perhaps my lot knew your lot! |

There was a wonderful site called London's lost streets - but the website has been pulled. |
