Need to order two Scottish birth certificates but have not got any reference No's
Can anyone help find these references
the persons I am looking for are
Robert Cooper b:1819 Hamilton, lanarkshire
and
his son
Robert Cooper b: 1843 Mussleburgh, Midlothian
Which office would I have to write to?
This is my first venture into Scotland for info on my GGGF and GGGGF
Any help or advice would be a great help.

You should be able to get the parish records from Scotlands People website online. I don't think birth certs started there until 1855. You need to register and it is free to search although you have to buy credits to view

Do you have any idea who Robert b Musselburgh married? The marriage certificate would have parents names on.
Ok forget that as he was married in England. I'm hoping the census records are correct?

As far as I am aware accurate Scottish records are not available from anywhere else other than Scotlands People or by visitng our Register House in Edinburgh so I would be very wary of accepting other info re above post as chances are it will not be correct..
