Are you putting zeros in where appropriate?

Definitely putting the day then the month?

Otherwise, it does seem a bit odd ...

Hi Jill
i am putting 4 10 1966
but it just wont let me go any further
i have tried leaving out the date month and year all together
because it asks further down for the qtr and i have already put in 1966 on the first page ...
ggggggggrrrrrrrrr
thanks Jill

Hazel - try putting in 04 for the day (they ask for DD)

I'm wondering, as the birth was less than 50 years old, would more information be needed to order the certificate?

Do they want exact details of parents?

GRO will not issue a certificate for anyone under 50 years. However some registry offices will if you apply directly to the one that the birth was registered

Yes - Birdsinanest / Turkeyinatin is right I think. You might need parents' names as well as dob.

I ordered new copies of birth certificates for my son and dil for a 'memory' book for their wedding two years ago.

I had to put parents' names.

Received both with no problem.

I only just remembered this!

This might be a stupid answer but I remember when I first started I was unable to order a cert. The reason being I was trying to centre the details in the little box given. To centre you had to press space first then add the details.

By just putting the details in without doing this it accepted it.
