Hello, does anyone out there know if it is possible to find who was living at a certain address in the States? I have an address and first name but am going round in circles trying to find a site that could give me the information I need! Help!!

Hello Rose,

Sorry for delay, someone wanted his tea! The letter, with address but no date, would have possibly been sent between 1939 - 1943. The reason I don't know the surname is it's from the female side of the family. An ancestor went to America sometime around 1870's so it's probably from his grand-daughter, thought if I could her surname I could possibly go back from there.

All I have is her name, Linda (possible surname begins with 'S') and 1460 Trapelo Road, Waltham, Massachusetts. Trouble is the family name I'm chasing is Jones! Her 'old man' (not sure whether she means father or husband) was working at the Post Office, but don't think that was built until 1935.
