The National Archives have naturalization records BUT some said they were legally able to be in the UK but never took naturalization. I have German ancestors and on 1891 and 1901 census its stated that they are born Germany -British subjects but they didnt take naturalization cos I have checked at KEW |

I have found out my G Grandfather was a merchant seaman and where his home address was for the birth of some of his children in England, so far so good, but in my hunt I now find he was a Naturalized British Subject, possibily Russian by birth. |
