cemetery plans

does anybody know how to get hold of cemetery plans. i know where my relatives are buried and also know grave numbers but when I have visted them its like a needle in a haystack without a plan. I emailed the council but they say they dont have plans with grave numbers. the cemeteries Im looking for are Armley and otley in leeds |

Hi ang, i would give them a call, sometimes they are really helpful. I've obtained a few Cemetery plans this way, if they have any that is. |

I am truly stunned. I deal regularly with three graveyards, two municipal and one a churchyard, and they provide me with maps and locations with no problem. After all, it is only right that if a relative wants to visit a grave that they are able to tell them where is it. |

armley is very big....otley is sort of medium sized- I'll call the numbers and let you know how I go on |

I must be very lucky. High Peak Borough Council is in charge of a very large cemetery at Glossop and Macclesfield Council in charge of a slightly smaller one and have a detailed plan of each "block" - there are dozens of blocks at Glossop - with every block with a reference number and every grave number shown. The kind and efficient people in charge will send me a copy of the relevant block with my plot highlighted. |
