Might there have been an inquest into the cause of her death? I think in those cases you can't register the death until the coroner has made their ruling on it. |

Could it be March Quarter from January to March rather than March itself. |

I know that sometimes you can find BMDs recorded in the next quarter, because so many days are allowed for registration, but is there any reason why a death might be registered 3 months late? I have been searching for my relative Mary Jane Irving who died 17th or18th December 1987( I know this because, I was there when she died and also at the funeral which took place on the 22nd Dec. ) but the only record is for Mary Jane Irving who died March 1988. The birth date is correct so why the discrepancy? |
