I think it depends on the individual church. I have seen some records that say, for instance "Sep 14, Mary the daughter of John Smith and Ann (formerly Jones), born Sept 12" and I've seen others that just say something like "Sep 14, Mary Smith to John Smith (bricklayer) and Ann of Manchester". |

will a christening record show mothers maiden name? i have birth cert for frederick paddock,1878, farther joseph mother emily? illegible writing so i'm hoping another document may show it. marrage certs only show farthers name, i can't find josephs and emilys marrage either however he also married mary palmer and emily was his alot younger wife. frederick was born in bristol where do i get records from ?i have family in area to look for me but not sure where. |
