Susan, you need the birth reference and district (from freebmd up to about 1925 or ancestry if later). Then you can order online from GRO - they cost £7. |

You can order online from www.gro.gov.uk for seven pounds. You will need the year, district, volume and page number. |

The practice on these boards is to misuse "certificate" and act as though it only applied to certified copies of statutory registrations of BMDs. (This is in spite of the fact that the legal birth registration acts refer to baptismal certs and certs of naming for col 10 entries on a b.cert). Best to go along with it. |
