Thanx bernie49, it does feel good when the penny finally drops. Before managing to copy and paste it felt like everyone was speaking a different language lol...

Thanx again

If you are highlighting text, particularly in the middle of a document, it is often easier to run the cursor back from the end to the beginning rather than beginning to end.

That is because when you get back e.g. to the begining of a paragraph, the cursor will stop, whereas going the other way there is a tendency to carry on onto the next line.

I have just tried printing using 'Selection' and it works fine in both Firefox 3.5 and Internet Explorer 8.

The option is only greyed out if you have not selected any text to print.

Thanks Porkie for stepping in there, I was otherwise occupied yesterday evening.
Just to add that of course you don't need to print what you've cut and pasted into Word (or whatever program you use). You can save it as a document to print later, or you can edit it... virtually do what you like with it.

Take your mouse, and place your cursor at the beginning of the text, then click and hold the left mouse button, while pulling your mouse over the text. This should highlight the text. Now release the left mouse button. Now, with the cursor over the highlighted text, right click the mouse for options, and select 'copy'. now go to where you want to paste the text and left click where you want to paste, and then right click your mouse again, and select 'paste' and you will have copied and pasted the text
