lovely thanks for that. I have a marriage certificate spelt kavanagh and a birth showing her child spelt cavanagh on free bmd, want to make sure its the right one before ordering. So thanks for that folks. |

If you have the GRO ref, you do not need the mothers maiden name, but you could put it as a checking point. If incorrect the GRO will refund £4 of the £7 cost for the search. |

Do you mean that there are registrations using the 2 spellings, ...or rather than she is sometimes seen with different spelling, - on census perhaps? |

Is there a telephone number that i can ring to obtain a birth certificate for a relative. I have two spellings for the mother, so would be better to ring. Can anyone help. |
