It opened in Wordpad because that's the program your computer has associated with that type of file, a gedcom is a text file so this is normal, you need to change the file association so that your computer opens that type of file with the program you want it to. |

Where is your tree now? Do you mean the one on GR? If so then go to the bottom of the page and click on Import / Export gedcom. |

Yes you can, but only in GEDCOM format that you will need an offline reader to open. |
