Passports 1853 - Is it possible?

Could some kind person tell me if it's possible to get a copy of a passport applcation from 1853 and if so how do I get it?. |

Passports as we know today weren't introduced until 1915. There were however earlier primitive versions, mainly issued to diplomats. |

Hi, I know he worked in India for several years, and have a baptism record from there which states the father's name. Also some kind person on here found the passport no for me and the date of application, which was Aug 1853. He was working as a chief engineer on a boat. |
