On the image for the 1901 census the person above him was born Ardwick; Manchester, and their is a ditto at the side of his name so the transcription for his place of birth is wrong, It should be born Ardwick; Manchester |

according to his army service records his wife is called Rebbecca |

so could he have been born somewhere else. on his army papers it says he is a british citizen but cant find death either and have looked in army deaths |

i have found my grt grt grandfather in the army in 1915. his name thomas england born 1877 and at the time lived in manchester and was married. i have searched for his birth and death on findmy past and ancestry.co.uk. can you suggest anywhere else to look please. many thanks |
