thankyou! i'm thinking that Joseph and Ralph are cousins? possibly, but i just find it strange that they both had daughter with the same name who married the same name and had a child with the same name! |

There are 2 Ruth Briers registered in Auckland, one in 1863 and one in 1874 which gives you a birth for both girls. |

I haven't got all the information, of course, but could Joseph and Ralph be the same person, e.g Joseph Ralph Pickering, known as Ralph? |
