Unexpected info on birth cert.

Hi I found an entry which tiesin with names, years etc for my uncle born arthur pugh, 1928 shropshire motherd maiden name smith but at the side it says Birmingham N any ideas what this could be the reg no is 6d which is usually Atcham |

Each district is not allocated its own number. |

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but if you know your uncle was born in Shropshire and the BMD index entry you've found gives Birmingham N it suggests that it's not the same person. |

The birth was definitely registered in Birmingham North - which is volume number 6d. |

Thankyou all , looks like its back to the drawing board!!!!!!!! I can find all the siblings of my father's family except this one and I guess the names smith and pugh are pretty common thanks again |
