Has anyone applied for these and is there more information in them than in the Certificate of Service that was issued on discharge. |

Not sure what's on a certificate of Service, but I know someone who applied for records of relative in Polish Army in Britain and the papers showed date of birth, names of his parents and siblings and birthplace in Poland. His father's occupation was noted and BONUS ....... |

I got my fathers records, as mum is still alive, I applied in her name and she signed the form,so it was free |

I was very disappointed with my dad's service record (cost £30). It gave me no information regarding the fact that during in WW2 he was shipwrecked and missing presumed dead, although I have the telegram telling his parents. Also nothing about where he was stationed, I got all that from tracking his ship on Google. |

I googled the name of the boat my dad was on during the war and boy but was I lucky, it gave, by date, where the boat was and what duty it was on.. |
