I have traced my family to Wexford, Patrick & Mary marrying in 1859. I have a copy of their marriage record from the catholic church in Wexford, however it doesn't give any information regarding the parents of the couple. From census records and death records I believe Patrick was born in 1834. However I've now hit a brick wall. The sacrisant at the church has been most helpful and provided all the information he can, I've been in touch with the Irish Registry Office, who's records commence in 1864, (hoping to find records of their three children) with no success. Griffiths Valuation gives me no info at all as Patrick is listed as "VAGUS" on his marriage record, which leads me to belive he was unemployed or a vagrant! My next move is to go over there, but where do I start......... Any tips would be most welcome. thanking you in anticipation. |
