i am doing some research for a friend of mine who doesn't have access to a computer. i have found their family on the 1911 census. The family concerned are living at 100 and 102 church street St Helens Lancashire. the address is that of a pub but it doesnt give the name of the pub . i have tried googling and looking on other census but without any luck . |

I have an ancestor who is listed as a licensed victualler, who just supplied alcohol to the trade, but was not a publican. |

Some public houses were just that - houses! They may have just sold beer from their home address. |

Why not try phoning any pub in St. Helen's and ask where the Licensed Victualler's Association for the area is? Someone must keep records - even if it's at the local archives. |

It could have been a beerhouse with no "name" as such. These were commonplace at the time. |
