I have also found this a problem. On 2 occasions early on I was contacted by people asking to see my tree and I let them then found afterwards there was no connection but they had still copied over the information onto their records including photographs of my mother, why would anyone want photos of people they have no connection with? I have now removed all photos and anecdotal info from my GR tree and keep that sort of stuff on my own computer softward. Why do people do this, I am not interested in anyone else's tree unless it is connected with mine. |

Even if you only open your tree to people you know have a good connection, you have no control on what they do with your information after they have incorporated it with their own. |

I have recently uploaded an updated version of my family tree to genes and as a result have had several PM's from people asking to view my tree. |
