Adopted and trying to trace birth father advice ne

Hi sorry if this sounds dumb but i am trying to trace my husbands birth father (he has never met him) we know he re-married and i have found the entry in the marriage records but in order to obtain a certificate i need the exact date of marriage and i only have month & year, i am new to this so any advice on this or other avenues i can take would be appreciated Thanks |

Hi Michelle, usually if you have the number of the entry, month, year and place of marriage then I thought you could send to the General Register Office for a copy of the marriage certificate? Certainly for the older records this is all you need - who told you they need the date of the marriage? |

I think you need a date of marriage if it took place in recent years. |
